Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During a plenary session, the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan reviewed and approved the Law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Connection with the Further Improvement of Land Use Regulations."

The law is aimed at ensuring the rational use of land resources, protecting green spaces, and tightening control over construction in areas of cultural and environmental significance.

One of the key provisions of the law is the clear definition of permitted land use types, as well as a ban on the privatization or transfer of land designated for public recreation. The law also seeks to prevent the reduction of parklands, squares, alleys, and boulevards.

Additionally, botanical gardens have been officially included in the list of protected natural areas where privatization and construction are strictly prohibited. Violations of these regulations will now carry stricter criminal liability.

The amendments also introduce improvements in urban planning regulations, enhance the awareness of land users and tenants, and increase the quality of cadastral land assessments.

These measures will help prevent illegal development in green zones, preserve cultural and recreational sites, and strengthen oversight of land legislation compliance.
