Uzbekistan’s national team crowned best at the Asian U19 Boxing Championship in Thailand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Asian U19 Boxing Championship in Thailand has concluded, with Uzbekistan’s national team achieving outstanding success by taking first place in the overall team standings.
Uzbek boxers claimed a total of 13 medals, including 7 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze.
Gold medals were won by Sevara Mamatova (up to 60 kg), Sobirakhon Shakhobiddinova (over 80 kg), Jahongir Zayniddinov (up to 65 kg), Abduaziz Jurakulov (up to 70 kg), Norbek Abdullaev (up to 80 kg), Samir Sobirov (up to 85 kg), and Islam Salikhov (over 90 kg).
Silver went to Raikhona Kurbonboeva (up to 70 kg), Maftuna Musurmonova (up to 48 kg), and Mukhammadjon Yakubboev (up to 75 kg).
Bronze medalists included Abdurakhmon Makhmudjonov (up to 60 kg), Maftuna Yangiyeva (up to 75 kg), and Rukhshona Parpiyeva (up to 81 kg).
With this performance, the country’s youth team once again reaffirmed the high level of the Uzbek boxing school on the international stage.
