Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan commented on the information circulating on social media about alleged fines for passengers who paid for bus rides in cash in Tashkent.
As a reminder, starting from 1 January 2025, cash payments in the capital's buses have been completely discontinued.
The Ministry of Transport stated that Article 144 of the Administrative Responsibility Code imposes a fine equal to one-tenth of the basic calculated value for traveling without a ticket on trolleybuses, trams, and buses. However, this only applies to cases where a passenger does not pay for their ride by any means.
To save time and money, the ministry recommended using electronic payment methods, with the fare set at 1,700 soums. Passengers can pay for their ride using bank cards, mobile apps, or the ATTO transport and virtual cards.
One-time tickets are also available, which can be purchased at Paynet, MultiPay, or Oson information kiosks installed at bus stops and nearby areas.
