Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held a meeting with Laura Mattioli, Regional Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

The meeting focused on reviewing the outcomes of completed projects within the framework of bilateral cooperation and discussing the allocation of financial resources provided to Uzbekistan under IFAD’s 13th replenishment cycle to support the development of the agricultural sector.

Minister Abdurakhmonov emphasized the importance of cooperation with IFAD, noting the success of ongoing projects that contribute to increased income levels and improved living standards in rural areas.

The two sides also discussed future initiatives, highlighting their practical significance in ensuring food security and enhancing value chains in agriculture.

Special attention was given to proposals aimed at developing potato and fruit and vegetable production, as well as organizing training and advanced education programs for students in Italy.
