Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry Proposes Temporary Summer Window Tinting for Cars
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Internal Affairs has developed a draft regulation that would allow drivers in Uzbekistan to temporarily tint their car windows during the summer months — from 1 May to 31 August.
The draft provides for the issuance of short-term permits for tinting front side and rear windows of M1 category vehicles (passenger cars designed to carry no more than eight passengers, excluding the driver).
The proposed fee for a summer permit is as follows:
– For citizens and local organizations — 1 basic estimated value (BEV), equivalent to 412,000 sums;
– For foreign companies registered in Uzbekistan — 5 BEVs, or 2.06 million sums.
Importantly, the full fee is charged regardless of the date the permit is issued within the specified summer period.
The procedure and cost of obtaining annual permits remain unchanged:
– For citizens and local organizations — 8 BEVs (3.296 million sums);
– For foreign companies — 14 BEVs (5.768 million sums).
