During the meeting, cordial conversations were exchanged, in addition to touching on relations of friendship and co-operation between the two countries and means of expanding and diversifying their diplomatic, economic, cultural and scientific fields.

The meeting also reviewed the ongoing preparations for opening the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Sultanate, as well as preparations for holding the first meeting for the Joint Committee between the two countries during the first quarter of 2013 in the capital, Tashkent.

The meeting was attended from the Omani side by Mohammed bin Yousef al Zarafi, Foreign Ministry’s Under-Secretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Shaikh Ahmed bin Salim al Shanfari, Head of Central Asia Department while it was attended from the Uzbek side by officials.
