Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Culture and Arts Development Foundation under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has raised concerns regarding the publication of the guidebook “Architekturführer. Taschkent” (ISBN 978-3-86922-550-0), published by DOM Publishers.
The guidebook, produced following the “WHERE IN THE WORLD IS TASHKENT?” conference, includes materials with questionable copyright status.
The Foundation has pointed out several copyright infringements:
The use of project participants’ texts without consent or with incorrect attribution;
Reproduction of museum exhibits without obtaining the necessary permissions;
Use of archival documents without prior approval from state agencies;
Publication of photographs created as part of the “Tashkent. Modernism XX/XXI” project without the consent of the authors and the Foundation.
An official request for clarification has been sent to DOM Publishers. The Foundation emphasizes the importance of adhering to copyright laws and ethical standards.
Additionally, it expressed hope for constructive dialogue and a mutually acceptable resolution to prevent similar issues in the future.
