The state-owned Uzkhlopkoprom association produced 870,572 tonnes of cotton fiber in January-October (down 3.5% less year-on-year), while enterprises with foreign participation produced 5.785 tonnes or down 21.3% year-on-year.

In 2006, Uzbekistan’s cotton harvest fell by 3.2% year-on-year to 3.63 million tonnes and cotton-fiber output fell by 1.4% to 1.171 million tonnes.
