The press-service of Legislative Chamber said the law is aimed at establishing a legal basis for regulating relations in the design and implementation of environmental control to bring the problems of environmental protection in accordance with the laws and presidential decrees.

The document also determines the role and place of civil society institutions, including self-governance bodies in the system of environmental protection.

In general, the law is aimed at improving the environmental control system, a mechanism for coordination of control activities, establishing the powers of state and government at all levels including specially authorized state body or public administration for environmental control.

It also defines the limits of authority of the institutional, industrial and environmental control of the public order and carry out responsibilities and other legal relations in this sphere.

After the discussions, the MPs approved the concept of the law and passed it in the first reading.
