Judoka Sukhrob Tursunov won the first medal of Uzbekistan at the Youth Olympic Games.

Tursunov claimed the bronze medal in the weight category of 66 kg, defeating Costa Rica’s Julian Sancho in the bout for the bronze medal.

Weightlifter Adhamjon Ergashev won the second bronze medal of Uzbekistan in the weight category of 56 kg.

Ergashev lifted 243 kg – 110 kg in snatch and 133 kg in clean and jerk. Tuan Nguyen Tran Anh recorded the same result, but he finished second due to lesser weight.
