The first half ended in a goalless stalemate for both Central Asian sides before the Uzbeks scored the match’s lone goal in the middle of the first half, handing over Turkmenistan’s first loss after two games.

Substitute Andrey Sidorov who came on the pitch on 67 minutes scored the goal 10 minutes later.

Turkmenistan, who opened their campaign with a 2-1 win over Nepal on Friday, will face hosts Qatar on Tuesday while Uzbekistan take on India on Thursday.
