Uzbekistan U-17 Team Falls to England in Spain

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s U-17 national team suffered a defeat against England in the Costa De La Luz U18 international tournament taking place in Spain. The match ended 3-1 in favor of the English side.

Asilbek Aliev opened the scoring for Uzbekistan in the 21st minute, but the opponents quickly leveled the game when Luca Williams-Barnett struck a precise free kick in the 28th minute.

Just eight minutes later, England took the lead as Alejandro Rodriguez converted a low cross at the near post, making it 2-1 by halftime.

The final goal came late in the second half when substitute Ryan Makaidu sent a powerful shot into the top corner, sealing a 3-1 victory for England.

According to the tournament schedule, Uzbekistan will face Canada on 6 September and Morocco on 9 September.
