Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan ratify agreement on transfer of inmates
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
On 19 March, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan exchanged ratification certificates to agreement between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan on transfer of persons sentenced for imprisonment for further service of their sentence.
The agreement was signed on 25 February 2009 in Tashkent. It was ratiedied by the Uzbek parliament on 17 December 2009 and Turkmen parliament on 18 April 2009.
In line with the agreement, it enters into force on the 30th day after the sides exchange ratification certificates.
Protocol on exchange of ratification certificates to agreement was signed by Bakhtiyor Islamov, deputy foreign minister of Uzbekistan, and Sultan Pirmuhamedov, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan.
