The meeting was aimed at boosting cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey, including in legal sector.

During the meeting, the sides noted that the agreement between Uzbekistan and Turkey on mutual legal aid on citizenship, trade and criminal cases from 23 June 1994 does not meet modern requirements. The sides agreed to update the agreement via talks.

Nurdak Okur, head of main department on international law and foreign affairs of Ministry of Justice of Turkey, invited the Uzbek side to visit Turkey on behalf of Minister of Justice of Turkey Sadullah Ergin.

At the end of the meeting, representatives of Uzbekistan and Turkey signed a protocol of the negotiations on 11 April 2013.
