The government approved a programme on updating and repairing lifts at tenement houses in Uzbekistan for 2010-2011 and Tashkent city for 2010-2014.
In line with the government, about 2,000 lifts will be updated or repaired in Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city. About 1,753 lifts will be modernized or repaired in Tashkent in 2010-2014 and other 210 lifts in regions and Karakalpakstan. At the same time, 123 lifts will be modernized in Samarkand region.
It is expected that 865 lifts will be replaced, 616 lifts – reconstructed and 482 lifts – fully repaired within the newly approved programme.
In line with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, the programme will be financed in equal shares due to funds of local budgets and free resources of local budgets and surplus of budget income, as well as other off-budget resources, as well as other sources, which are not forbidden with the legislation.
In 2010, the programme will be financed due to surplus of local budgets, the resolution said. Finance Ministry of Uzbekistan was entrusted to includes resources to implement the programme in State Budget for 2011-2014.
Samarkand Lift Construction Plant will supply lifts, components and spare parts, as well as other materials. The plant will supply these products on declared prices, announced in established order.
