Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The International Hockey Federation (IIHF) included the Uzbekistan national team among the participants in the World Championship in Division IV.
This event is another milestone on the path of the Hockey Federation of Uzbekistan. HFU was formed in March 2018 and accepted membership in the IIHF in September 2019. After which the federation had to fulfill many conditions in order for the country’s national team to begin its participation in world championships.
Earlier, the President of the HFU, Bakhtiyor Fazylov, already announced plans for the start of performances of the national team of Uzbekistan in the IIHF World Championship program from 2025.
Uzbekistan will take part in the 2025 World Cup, where its opponents in Division IV will be the national teams of Iran, Kuwait, Indonesia, Malaysia and Armenia. The place and dates of the championship will be determined later. The winner of the tournament will advance to the next strongest division III B.
