Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  By Decree of the President of Uzbekistan No. 392, dated November 15, 2024, measures have been approved to radically improve the teaching of physical education in schools and increase the professionalism of physical education teachers.

In particular, a new system for awarding qualification categories to physical education teachers will be developed.

The following plans are set for 2025:

- By 1 March: Approve a list of sports for students of various ages, prioritizing active games, Olympic, and mass sports;

- By 1 June: Establish a rating system to assess student participation in competitions, the activities of school sports clubs, and overall sports activity;

- By 1 May: Build a sports training base at the "Lochin" recreation zone (Zamin district) to prepare students for competitions;

- By 1 July: Implement a national system for evaluating the knowledge and professional skills of physical education teachers.

Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year:

- New educational and methodological guides for physical education teachers for grades 5-11 will be developed;

- School sports clubs will be established in all schools;

- Annual "Olympiad of Five Initiatives" sports competitions will be held.
