Uzbekistan to launch power plants with a total capacity of 4 gigawatts in 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Uzbekistan plans to launch power plants with a total capacity of 4 gigawatts, using all available generation sources, in 2024. This was announced at a video conference meeting chaired by the President of Uzbekistan.

Issues related to increasing electricity production were discussed at the meeting.

It is noted that this year it is planned to launch power plants with a total capacity of 4 gigawatts from various generation sources. In particular, 11 solar and 3 wind power plants will be put into operation.

In addition, plans were identified for the overhaul of 850 kilometers of main networks and 9 substations, as well as 595 kilometers of electrical networks, as well as the commissioning of 4 new substations.

It is noted that in order to ensure stable operation of thermal power plants, meet the needs of the population and the social sphere, this year it is necessary to increase coal production to 8 million tons.
