Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, has initiated a draft resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers aimed at reforming the operation of vehicle impound lots.

According to the document, starting from August 1, an online system for obtaining permits to retrieve vehicles from impound lots will be introduced. Permits will be available through government service portals as well as via the mobile applications of the Traffic Safety Service (SBBD). A separate administrative regulation will be adopted to govern the digital procedure, outlining the steps for submitting and processing applications.

Traditional interaction methods with the SBBD will remain in place: vehicle owners will still be able to apply for vehicle return permits in person or in writing through traffic safety authorities.

The explanatory note to the draft resolution states that technical implementation of the initiative within the internal systems of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Technologies will be completed by July 20, indicating a high level of readiness for the digital service rollout.
