Lower house of parliament considered the law “On ratification of International convention against doping in sport (Paris, 19 October 2005)” at its session in Tashkent.
The parliament’s press-service noted that the convention envisages that sport should play important role in protection of healthcare, moral, cultural and physical upbringing, as well as in strengthening international rapport and peace.
MPs passed the law, which will be submitted, to Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan for approval.
International convention against doping in sport was adopted at the 33rd session of the General conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The document is directed at preventing use of doping in sports and combating doping.
