Uzbekistan to introduce energy consumption standards for industrial enterprises
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan will introduce energy consumption standards for large industrial enterprises, aiming to reduce costs by 5–10%. This initiative was announced during a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
This year, the country plans to save 1.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 3.5 billion kWh of electricity. To achieve this, enterprises and organizations will receive scientifically grounded recommendations to enhance energy efficiency.
Modern boiler systems will be installed in social institutions, which is expected to reduce gas consumption by 5 million cubic meters and electricity consumption by 15 million kWh within the year.
Additionally, efforts will be made to improve thermal insulation in apartment buildings. To encourage the adoption of solar panels and solar collectors, the population will be offered preferential loans. At the same time, an energy-saving educational program based on Japanese expertise will be launched.
