Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is set to integrate aerospace technologies into various sectors of its economy. This initiative has been formalized by a presidential decree “On Measures for the Implementation of Aerospace Technologies in Economic Sectors from 2024 to 2026”.

The decree outlines priority areas for state space monitoring aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of identifying and addressing issues within economic sectors during this period.

Specifically, space technologies will be utilized to detect cases of unauthorized land grabs and illegal construction on these sites. Additionally, the application of these technologies is planned for delineating forest boundaries and monitoring their condition.

Another focus area will be the identification of illegal mineral extraction activities in geology, as well as the unjustified use of areas where minerals are located.

Space monitoring will also be employed to detect waste that exceeds established storage boundaries, as well as to discover new illegal dumpsites.

Furthermore, aerospace technologies will be used to monitor sedimentation and water levels in reservoirs.

In agriculture, space monitoring aims to assess the efficiency of cultivated land usage, as well as to identify crop types and water consumption volumes.

Starting March 1, 2025, remote monitoring of subsoil use and risk analysis will be conducted through the "Geomonitoring" information system and the SGM platform.
