Uzbekistan to host representatives of the global textile community

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 7 to 10 September 2024, Samarkand will host the International Conference "ITMF Annual Conference & IAF World Fashion Convention 2024," organized by the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) and the International Apparel Federation (IAF).

Uzbekistan’s textile industry is advancing rapidly, attracting global attention for its significant progress. In a short period, the country’s textile sector has transformed into a competitive international player. Events like this will further establish Uzbekistan as a significant player in the global textile industry.

At a press conference held today at the main building of "O’zto’qimachiliksanoat," it was announced that the international forum Global Textile Dialogue will take place in Tashkent on 13 September. ITMF and IAF bring together leading textile associations, apparel manufacturers, equipment producers, as well as major brands and retailers from 60 countries worldwide. Uzbekistan joined ITMF in 2014 and became a member of IAF in 2020.

These events, held jointly in Uzbekistan for the first time, will gather more than 500 organizations, including manufacturers, retailers, and brands. Participants will discuss current issues in the global textile industry and conduct hundreds of "B2B" and "G2B" meetings aimed at fostering cooperation and establishing new partnerships.

The Global Textile Dialogue forum, first organized in 2023 in China, aims to unite national textile associations to jointly promote innovation. Uzbekistan’s experience in sustainable development and monitoring in the textile sector has gained international recognition and is being applied in various regions.

"Uzbekistan was chosen from among many leading countries, including the United States, Turkey, Egypt, and others. The selection of Uzbekistan as the venue undoubtedly speaks to the growing attention and trust in our country and the lifting of the boycott on Uzbek cotton," noted the Acting Chairman of the Uztextile Industry Association.

The conference and forum provide unique opportunities for strengthening cooperation and developing trade and investment ties. Representatives from more than 50 countries are expected to participate, enabling the exchange of experiences and the establishment of partnerships.
