Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Tashkent with representatives from the international consulting company "Reformatics," during which a tripartite agreement was signed for the development of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Development Strategy until 2040.
The meeting was attended by Bahodir Rahmatov, Director of the Strategic Reforms Agency, Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism, as well as Niko Gilauri, Managing Partner of "Reformatics," and other company representatives.
The main goals of the strategy will be to increase the number of foreign tourists to 20 million per year, grow domestic tourism to 30 million, and raise the share of tourism in the country’s GDP to 7%. To achieve these targets, plans include attracting investments, developing tourism infrastructure, and integrating modern digital solutions.
Experts from "Reformatics" emphasized that Uzbekistan has all the potential to become one of the leading tourist destinations in the world.
The country’s advantageous geographical location, with 21 states located within a 2,000 km radius, creates broad prospects for growing international tourism.
A key step in the collaboration will be the opening of a "Reformatics" office in Tashkent. The company’s experts will work closely with industry representatives, entrepreneurs, tour operators, investors, and government bodies to implement the set goals.
The strategy’s development will involve analyzing tourism flows, launching a global marketing campaign, creating new tourist routes, and forming investment packages to develop key tourist areas. Authorities hope that this comprehensive approach will significantly enhance Uzbekistan’s appeal on the global tourism market.
