Uzbekistan to develop national payment system
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uzbekistan will implement a project on creation of new system on acquiring and processing payments through internet with use of banking payment cards and other electronic payments.
The project will be implemented within the programme on further introduction and development of information-communication technologies for 2012-2014.
The project will be realized by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan Banking Association, Ministry of finance, Ministry of foreign economic relations, investment and trade, Ministry of Economy, Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
Within the project, they should create technical and software infrastructure to develop system on payment of goods and services through Internet.
The programme said that the project implementation will cut turnover of cash turnover, simplify and optimize current electronic payment system.
