Speaking at the fourth session of the Uzbek-Latvian intergovernmental commission on economic, industrial and scientific-technical cooperation, Elyor Ganiev said that Uzbekistan and Latvia have untapped potential in increasing bilateral trade.
He said that Uzbekistan and Latvia want to use this potential effectively. He said that companies of Uzbekistan signed contracts and agreements for over US$100 million on supply of fruits and vegetables to Latvia and Europe at Riga Food 2013 exhibition, which was held in early September.
According to the website of the exhibition, Riga Food 2013 was attended by Embassy of Uzbekistan in Riga, Markazsanoateksport, Uzinterimpeks, Uzmarkazimpeks, Uzvinosanoat-holding and World Food Uzbekistan.
International trade fair for food, beverages, food processing technology, packaging, innovation, Horeca and shop equipment and services Riga Food 2013 was organized for the 18th time. The exhibition was attended by 664 companies from 35 countries, 11 national collective stands.
