Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By the end of 2023, Uzbekistan will start implementing a project for the construction of an alternative toll highway “Tashkent – Andijan”.
It is expected that the project will be implemented with the participation of the World Bank and the cost of the project will be US$2.5 billion.
As a result of the project, the travel time from Andijan to Tashkent will be reduced from 5 hours to 3 hours.
Also, 4 electric trains will be launched along the Andijan-Ferghana-Qoqand-Namangan-Andijan railway ring. As a result, 8 flights are organized per day, which will allow carrying about 10,000 passengers. About US$40 million will be allocated for this.
Andijan International Airport will be completely reconstructed according to modern standards. US$350 million will be allocated for these works.
