Japanese Nikkei newspaper reported that the First Vice-Premier And Finance Minister of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov held negotiations with Japan Finance Minister Esihiko Noda on 3 February.
According to paper, the sides will sign credit agreement during the working visit of the Uzbek President Islam Karimov to Tokyo.
During the meeting, Rustam Azimov said that Uzbekistan plans to use loan for 20 billion yens or US$247 million to electrification of railroad near border regions with Afghanistan.
In his turn, Esihiko Noda stated that Japan is interested in participation in development of natural resources deposits in Uzbekistan. He called Uzbekistan authorities to improve financial system of the country to ensure Japanese investment inflow.
