Uzbekistan to allocate US$100 million to improve maternity hospital infrastructure

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined comprehensive measures to advance the healthcare sector as part of major national programs. 

The president emphasized that raising the average life expectancy to 78 years requires enhancing the accessibility and quality of primary healthcare services for the population. 

In 2025, the government plans to conduct primary health screenings for 3.7 million women. Through digitalization, early cancer detection rates are expected to increase to 85%, according to official reports. 

A new system will be introduced to train 18,000 local medical teams and provide home-based rehabilitation services to 884,000 patients. Additionally, US$100 million will be allocated to strengthen the infrastructure of maternity hospitals. 

President Mirziyoyev also highlighted the importance of developing targeted programs to promote healthy lifestyles, proper nutrition, physical education, and sports.
