Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Chairman of the Tourism Committee Umid Shadiev takes part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum “Year of Tourism 2023”. This was reported by Dunyo news agency.

The forum is taking place in the city of Urumqi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR), China.

Heads of tourism administrations, representatives of international organizations, government and business structures, and experts in the field of tourism take part in the forum.

Participants will discuss joint initiatives to develop the tourism industry in the SCO space.

The SCO Forum became the first thematic forum within the framework of the Year of Tourism, which was announced in 2022 during a meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States in the city of Samarkand.
