In this connection, percentage of buildings in balance of archives rose from 21% in 2006 to 81% in 2011.
Currently, Uzbekistan has 102 state archives and their fund reached 8.4 million units. Number of workers makes up 1,019. Some 9,400 organizations are serving as sources for archives.
Along with the state archives, there are also 115 inter-industry archives and 29 non-state archives. These archives have over 3 million archive documents.
The archives pay attention to introduction of information-communication technologies. State Archives introduced electronic document turnover among archive establishments.
Currently, State Archives of Uzbekistan store 552,000 units of unique and valuable documents and the work is underway on their digitalization. Currently, 870,000 lists of documents were transferred to electronic versions.
State Archives rendered paid services for 1.8 billion soums in 2011. Incomes from paid services are used to improve material-technical base of archives and encouragement of employees.
State Archives cooperates with foreign countries and it imported 2,500 copies of scientific, historic, cultural and political documents.
