Uzbekistan showcases tourism potential at major ITB Berlin Exhibition
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 4 to 6 March 2025, Uzbekistan took part in ITB Berlin (Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin), one of the world’s largest tourism exhibitions. The country’s national stand, set up at the Messe Berlin exhibition complex, served as a platform to present Uzbekistan’s tourism potential.
The Uzbek delegation was led by Jamshid Abdusalamov, First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee. The group included representatives from more than 25 tourism organizations, including hotels, tour operators, airlines, and online platforms.
Over 200 meetings were held at the exhibition in B2B (business-to-business) and B2G (business-to-government) formats.
Uzbek representatives discussed prospects for tourism development with international partners, including the creation of cross-border routes, the implementation of new tourism complexes, and the expansion of sustainable tourism, ecotourism, and adventure tourism.
Special attention was given to attracting tourists from Europe, particularly from Germany. Concrete agreements were reached that will help increase the number of travelers visiting Uzbekistan.
As part of the event, meetings were held with representatives of more than 10 foreign media outlets and platforms. International journalists were introduced to Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage, ancient cities, architectural landmarks, and the measures being taken to enhance tourism infrastructure.
ITB Berlin is the world's largest tourism exhibition, held annually since 1966. Each year, it brings together thousands of participants, including hotels, tourism boards, tour operators, airlines, and other companies from the travel industry. Uzbekistan’s participation in such a prestigious event highlights the country’s growing appeal as an emerging tourist destination.
Uzbekistan continues to actively promote its tourism potential on the international stage, strengthening its position in the global tourism market.
