The press service of the regional administration of Volgograd region said on 5 December that the plant on irrigation equipment in Volgograd - the Ortech closed joint-stock company - signed a protocol of intention with the Uzbek Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources on supplying Uzbekistan with water saving equipment and drip irrigation systems. The main directorate of water resources under the Uzbek Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources will draft proposals on pilot projects and submit them to Ortech to draw up the projects’ documents.

It is expected that equipment will be supplied in March 2008.

The sides also signed a protocol of intention on producing medicines and dietary supplements as well as an agreement on supplying Uzbekistan with cooking oil produced by the Evropa-Biofarm closed joint-stock company. With the aim of developing trade potential and setting up joint ventures to produce pharmacy products in Uzbekistan, the sides signed a memorandum on cooperation.
