Uzbekistan-Russia International Film Forum kicks off in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) –– On 4–6 December, Tashkent hosts the Uzbekistan-Russia International Film Forum.

The event is organized by Uzbekkino, the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

During the film forum, representatives of the film industry of Uzbekistan and Russia will discuss ongoing programs and projects planned between Russia and Uzbekistan in 2019-2020.

Also on the agenda is coverage of a project to jointly prepare a documentary to celebrate the 75th anniversary of victory in World War II and other Russian projects planned for implementation in Uzbekistan.

A separate topic for discussion will be education. The parties will discuss the issues of interaction between the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography and the Uzbekkino NA in the field of training in the film industry, the organization of special courses and internships for young filmmakers from Uzbekistan.

It is also planned to cover the achieved intercountry agreements on the joint production of the animated series “Khoja Nasretdin” and the presentation of joint projects.

During the Uzbekistan-Russia Film Forum, a number of agreements and memoranda will be signed. In particular, it is planned to sign an agreement between Uzbekkino and VGIK on training Uzbek cinematographers at VGIK, an agreement between State Unitary Enterprise Uzbekfilm and STV film company on the production of the film Little Muk in Uzbekistan; agreement between the State Unitary Enterprise “Studio of animated films” and “Soyuzmultfilm” on cooperation in the joint production of animated films.
