Uzbekistan, Romania hold political consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan held a meeting with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania Bogdan Auresku on 30 May 2013 and the sides also held the third political consultations.

It was underlined that during 18 years of diplomatic relations, the sides accrued positive experience of interaction in various areas and formed necessary legal base of cooperation.

It was said that exchange of high level visits in 1996 and 2003 laid firm foundation for further strengthening of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Romania.

At the consultations, the sides discussed current state and perspectives of development of the Uzbek-Romanian dialogue in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.

The sides also focused their attention to issues of expanding bilateral trade due to diversification and expansion of nomenclature of trade services and goods, implementation of joint projects on processing agriculture products, production of construction materials, textile products, pharmaceuticals, chemical, furniture and footwear goods.

The delegations discussed schedule of upcoming contacts between the miniistries of foreign affairs, parliaments and issues related on developing contacts among business circles, cultural and education institutions of two states.

The sides affirmed their interest in holding regular political consultations, which allow to consider development of the Uzbek-Romanian issues, exchange opinion and assessments on regional and international issues.
