Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2024, Uzbekistan repatriated the bodies of 483 deceased citizens, according to Nigora Isroilova, Head of the Department of Migration Agency.

Out of the total, 474 bodies were returned from Russia, 5 from Türkiye, and 4 each from Korea and Kazakhstan.

The government covers the transportation costs, which vary depending on the country of origin.

For instance, transportation from Russia costs up to US$1,000, from the UK between US$4,000 and US$5,000, and from Japan or Korea around US$9,000.
