Uzbekistan reduces compensation to organizers of charter flights

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 January 2022 to 1 January 2023, Uzbekistan reduced the amount of compensation from the state budget to cover part of the costs of tourism entities and air carriers for organizing charter flights from foreign countries to Uzbekistan.

The President of Uzbekistan signed a decree "On the creation of additional conditions for the further development of tourism, culture, cultural heritage and sports."

According to the decree, the amount of compensation is now US$10, and during the winter season (from November 20 to February 20) - US$25 for each foreign tourist, subject to the duration of his stay in Uzbekistan for at least five nights.

Uzbekistan introduced this compensation from 1 January 2020. The amount of compensation was US$20 per tourist, and US$50 in the winter season.

It was paid in equal shares from the state budget and the off-budget Tourism and Sports Support Fund under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
