Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of cross-border remittances from foreign countries to Uzbekistan in January-June 2020 made up about US$2.44 billion, which is 6% less compared to the same period in 2019. This was stated in the report of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
Individuals in the reporting period transferred US$426.9 million from Uzbekistan to foreign countries, which is 8.59% less than in the same period in 2019.
In January-June 2020, Uzbekistan received funds in the amount of US$1.94 billion (-10.4%) from the CIS countries and US$451.6 million from the rest of the world (+ 10.68%).
About US$237.5 million (-6.4%) were sent from Uzbekistan to the CIS countries and other countries - 180.9 million (-10.93%).
At the same time, funds were transferred from Russia to Uzbekistan in the amount of US$1.74 billion in January-June 2020 against US$1.98 billion in the first half of last year.
