Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a resolution approving the ratification of an international agreement with Russia on joint film production.

The document regulates cooperation between the two countries in the creation and distribution of co-produced films and grants Uzbek-Russian films the same benefits and privileges as national productions.

The parties have agreed to collaborate on promoting films at festivals and competitions. Under the agreement, all films must be dubbed into either Russian or Uzbek. Additionally, measures have been outlined to simplify the entry of film crews and the transportation of equipment.

The agreement was signed on 27 May 2024, and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been designated as the body responsible for its implementation.
