Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the Global Digitalization Index 2024 (GDI), Uzbekistan secured the 60th position out of 77 countries, scoring 32.7 points out of a possible 120.
This index reflects the level of digitalization across various countries and illustrates the relationship between digital technologies and the gross domestic product (GDP) level.
The study categorizes countries into three groups: leaders, developing, and emerging.
Uzbekistan falls into the emerging countries category, indicating an initial level of maturity in information and communication technologies (ICT) and the economy.
Among neighboring countries, Kazakhstan ranks 58th, while other Central Asian nations did not make it onto the index.
The research highlights that the index encompasses countries accounting for 93% of the global GDP and 80% of the population, providing a comprehensive view of progress in digital transformation worldwide.
