Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January-October 2024, electricity generation in Uzbekistan increased by 4.66% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 66.63 billion kWh, according to data from the Statistics Agency.
Large enterprises in the country produced 58.85 billion kWh, which is 6.7% less than the previous year. However, small businesses demonstrated a significant increase in electricity production — from 594.3 million kWh in 2023 to 7.78 billion kWh this year.
The production of thermal energy decreased by 7.2%, totaling 17.67 million Gcal.
Additionally, during the reporting period, 78.2 million cubic meters of gas were produced from underground coal gasification, which is 39.9% more than in the same period last year.
