Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan plans to restrict the circulation of electronic cigarettesA draft law has been developed in Uzbekistan aimed at banning the circulation of various types of tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes and nicotine delivery devices. Members of the UzLiDeP faction have begun a detailed review of the document in its first reading.

According to the data presented, recent years have seen an increase in the illegal import and distribution of "innovative" tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes, liquids for them, and heated tobacco products. The growing consumption of these products among youth is especially concerning.

The draft law proposes a complete ban on the production, storage for sale, transportation, and distribution of such products within the country. It also suggests introducing administrative and criminal liability for their illegal import and export.

It is expected that the measures, if enacted, will help reduce the consumption of nicotine-containing products and strengthen public health.
