Uzbekistan plans to increase number of mobile users up to 27m
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan is planning to increase number of mobile users up to 27 million by 2020.

The Government of Uzbekistan approved a programme on development of service sector for 2016-2020. The programme was adopted to ensure balanced development and diversification of the activities of the enterprises in service sector, increasing competitiveness and quality of provided services.

According to the Programme, the goal will be achieved due to introduction of new base stations. In particular, UzMobile will introduce 3,680 base stations by 2020, Ucell – 969 base stations, and Beeline – 1,226 base stations.

By 2020, the Government of Uzbekistan is planning to lay 10,300 km of optic-fibre communication lines and introduce Wi-Fi technologies to access Internet in public places, hotels, airports, stations and other places, visit by the tourists.
