Uzbekistan plans to hold Republican sports games “National Olympiad” every two years

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A draft resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to organize the national sports games "National Olympiad" in national and Olympic sports" has been published for discussion on the portal for discussing draft regulatory legal acts.

The document proposes a new system for identifying and selecting talented youth and involving them in sports and healthy lifestyles, developing and popularizing national sports, creating a powerful Olympic reserve for participation in the Olympic, Asian Games, World Championships and other major sporting events and achieving excellent results by our athletes.

According to the document, every two years the country plans to hold the National Olympic Games in national and Olympic sports and award the winners and prize-winners who have achieved record results. In particular:

Winners and prize-winners in the team event (I-III places) in the final stage of sports games are awarded a one-time monetary reward in the amount of:

- for the first place - 200 million soums

- for the second place - 150 million soums

- for third place - 100 million soums

Winners and prize-winners (I-III places) in the final stage of sports games are awarded the "Award of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

Students of general education institutions are admitted to Olympic and Paralympic colleges. Students of professional educational institutions are accepted for full-time, part-time and evening forms of education on the basis of additional state grants, and in the direction of physical culture and sports of higher educational institutions - without exams. Students of higher educational institutions (bachelor’s degree) are accepted on the basis of additional state grants to master’s programs in the relevant areas of higher education without exams.

Winners and prize-winners (I-III places) in the final stage of sports competitions are credited to the sports reserve by identifying and selecting talented youth in the regions on a special platform for managing the sports system.
