Uzbekistan plans to employ 200,000 citizens in economically developed countries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  In 2025, Uzbekistan plans to employ over 200,000 citizens in economically developed countries. This announcement was made by Prime Minister Abdullah Aripov during a session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on 20 November.

Ahead of his reappointment as head of government, Aripov presented to the deputies an action program for the Cabinet of Ministers, covering both short-term and long-term perspectives. The program, developed based on the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy, includes 400 initiatives across 10 different areas, including the systematic organization of labor migration.

Aripov noted that the president has tasked the government with providing social support to labor migrants and assisting their employment in countries with high wage levels. He mentioned that, in 2025, more than 200,000 citizens of Uzbekistan are expected to be employed in 21 economically developed countries, such as Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Israel, Canada, Poland, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and others.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that this work will continue in subsequent years. Plans include creating conditions for training citizens who intend to work abroad in professional skills and foreign languages.

In recent years, the government of Uzbekistan has been actively diversifying labor migration destinations to expand the list of countries for employment opportunities and reduce dependence on specific markets.
