Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan plans to establish central laboratories in each region for testing the quality of drinking water.

This is outlined in the draft presidential decree as part of the state program for 2025, aimed at environmental protection and the development of a green economy.

The laboratories are expected to operate either directly or under agreements with regional departments of sanitary and epidemiological welfare and public health.

All laboratories to be established must meet the set technical requirements.

The implementation of this program is entrusted to Uzsuvta’minot (Uzbekistan’s State Water Supply Company).

The main goal of this initiative is to improve the nationwide system for monitoring drinking water quality.
