Over 3,000 people from 180 countries participated at the opening ceremony of the event, including German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Indonesia is partner country of ITB-2013.

On 6 March, National stand of Uzbekistan has been opened at Great Silk Road pavilion. The stand presented such companies as Uzbektourism, Uzbekistan Havo Yollari, Uzbekistan Temir Yollari, Great Silk Road Advertisement Agency. Some 30 representatives of 13 tourism companies of Uzbekistan also attended the event.

Officials of Uzbektourism and Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany participated at the third Ministerial summit of the Silk Road states, which was organized under aegis of UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The participants discussed issues on protection of cultural and historic heritage in territory of 29 countries, which are part of UNWTO Great Silk Road Programme.

The exhibition will last till 10 March 2013.
