Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will launch a system of government mobile communications from 1 April 2019.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On additional measures for introduction of the digital economy, e-government, and information systems in the public administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

The document notes that the National Agency for Project Management under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has launched and tested the operation of the government mobile communications system.

The decree said that the government mobile communications system provides confidentiality, mobility, security and budget savings for telecommunications services, including during foreign trips.

From 1 April 2019, the system is mandatory for use by employees of state bodies, organizations, local government bodies, diplomatic missions abroad in the performance of official duties.
