Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from key government institutions of Uzbekistan, organized by the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the State Statistics Committee, the E-Government Center, and the Cadastre Agency, visited Latvia.

The primary goal of the visit was to study Latvian data management practices and their role in the development and implementation of state policy.

During the visit, comprehensive discussions and experience exchanges took place with Latvian experts, focusing on effective data management, innovative approaches, and the use of data for making significant policy decisions.

The delegation familiarized themselves with Latvian data management methodologies and their impact on the policy-making process. One of the key takeaways from the visit was the recognition of the need for data exchange between government institutions in machine-readable formats to enhance analytics and decision-making in public administration.

Following the visit, the working group began developing a concept for a national data management system law.

The trip was organized with support from the Central Finance and Contracting Agency of Latvia and the "Good Governance" program, implemented by GIZ on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ).
