Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank of Uzbekistan announced the issuance of new banknotes in the form of a coin with a face value of 1,000 soums from 26 December 2022. This was reported by the press service of the Central Bank.
The banknote of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the form of a coin worth 1000 soums is made of a two-color combination: an inner yellow ring made of copper and brass, an outer silver ring with a nickel coating.
The diameter of the coin is 26.27 mm, the diameter of the inner disk is 17.6 mm, the thickness is 1.6 mm, and the weight is 7.3 grams.
On the front side of the coin (obverse) - the building of the "Center of Islamic Civilization", which is being built in the city of Tashkent, is depicted.
In the lower part of the image, the denomination of the coin “1000” is written in concave numbers and the word “so’m” is written in printed Latin letters under the number.
On the reverse side of the coin (reverse) - in the center is the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On the circumference of the emblem there is an inscription in Latin letters "O’ZBEKISTON RESPUBLIKASI MARKAZIY BANKI".
Under the coat of arms is the number "2022", indicating the year of approval of the coin sample.
The side of the coin is smooth.
At the same time, the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan notes:
- New samples of the 1000 soum coin issued into circulation will be put into circulation in parallel with the 1000 soum banknotes of the 2001 sample that are in circulation;
- banknotes of the 2001 sample with a face value of 1000 soums do not lose their solvency.
- also, banknotes of a new type, along with banknotes and coins in circulation, are required to be accepted at face value for all types of payments by all economic entities and the population without any restrictions.
